LCP 200+ Club Information/History
The gym is built out of a very modified chicken house with an appropriate name "La Casa Pollo."
Opened in 1995 as the LCP 200+ Climbing Club, then burned down six months later from a lightning strike to the tower.
The Gym was then rebuilt in 83 days with indoor and outdoor walls and about 6000 sq. ft. of climbing.
The tower was then added as a free standing climbing surface with 75 foot walls.
In 1997 it became a public gym open to everyone who wanted to learn the discipline of climbing.
In August 2003 the gym went back to private club status to offer its members benefits such as club trips and other outings.
The gym then grew as years passed with more bouldering walls and small additions including central heating.
The gym now has 16000+ sq. ft. of climbing surface with around 17000 climbing holds.
The gym has many angles for climbing from very overhung power climbing to slabs for training edging technique. |
